Agent Workflow Starter Map
A mapping guide for turning one recurring business process into a scoped agent workflow.
Built for: Teams exploring agents for sales, admin, research, or operations work.
What you get
A one-page agent map with inputs, tools, review points, and stop conditions.
- Define what the agent is allowed to do
- Name the tools and data sources required
- Set clear review, escalation, and stop rules
Run the guide
Work through it in order.
Draw the current loop
An agent is only useful when the work loop is visible. Start by documenting how a human handles the same task today.
- Write the trigger that starts the work, such as a new email, form, row, or ticket.
- List every source the person checks before making a decision.
- Write the action the person takes and the artifact that proves it happened.
- Mark every point where a mistake would create customer, financial, or compliance risk.
Define the agent boundary
The boundary is the product. It tells the agent where to operate and tells the business when a human is back in charge.
- Write one sentence for the agent's job.
- List approved tools and block every tool that is not needed for this workflow.
- Set a maximum number of steps, retries, and minutes per run.
- Name the handoff condition that sends the task to a human.
Final pass
Before you call it done
- Trigger written
- Sources listed
- Approved tools named
- Human review point placed
- Stop condition defined

Why this guide exists
Every guide is pulled from a live client engagement. If it is in here, we have run it, measured it, and watched it hold up in the field.
